Classes in Watermedia 2ND AND 4TH MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH We meet from 2pm - 9:30pm Design or inspirational material are emphasized at the beginning of each class, sometimes with a hand-out. I will critique as needed during class. We use all sizes of canvas, watercolor paper, acrylics, latex, inks, etc; generally watermedia. I don't use oils, because of sensitivity to the medium. Please R.S.V.P. in advance to allow for space and set-up time. Where: My home at 105 Larchbrook in DeSoto, TX Saturday Workshops What we do: Varies from experimental underpaintings, collages or Art Books, paper vessels, nature pouches and painting on tar paper or black canvas. Some Saturdays may be designated for experimental compositional drawing. We bring lunch or pick up near-by. The Art of Discovery Workshop Series This workshop is designed as an adventure, using steppingstones as springboards to get us from one place to another. Its objective is learning to maintain creative momentum throughout the process until completion. As explorers we will take time and embrace risk for the sake of discovery. In addition to our painting each day, I will share creative projects to assist students to diversify and guard against falling into complacency. Boredom, apathy, and staying in one place too long results in being stuck without knowing it! My purpose is for us to find new venues of expression playing with various methods of painting. This enables our expression to evolve. Change and completion should become less difficult. Our problem-solving skills become more finely tuned. We begin to see and speak the language of design.  As we develop experience, our fears are lessened and we get bolder and more daring. This odyssey may not have a clearly defined destination but we are certain to have an interesting time getting there.
